Loud Shirt Day is one day a year where everyone can go wild and commit some serious fashion crimes by stepping out in their loudest, brightest shirts. You’ll have a whole lot of fun and also help give deaf children a voice –their voice. On Loud Shirt Day, you and your colleagues can throw aside your usual business attire, step out in your brightest and loudest shirts and donate to deaf and hard of hearing children in BC.
Your participation in Loud Shirt Day raises vitally needed funds to help deaf children across BC reach their listening, language and speech milestones. It also raises the awareness that deaf children can talk and can attend their local school with their hearing siblings and peers, contribute to their community and reach their full potential within the hearing world.
Everyone who participates makes a donation (anything over $20 is fully tax deductible) and all money raised will help deaf children learn to listen and to speak throughout BC.
Loud Shirt Day is an initiative of Children’s Hearing & Speech Centre of BC, a non-profit organization dedicated to enabling deaf children with cochlear implants and hearing aids to listen and speak like their hearing peers. For further info visit: www.childrenshearing.ca
