Get Loud Sing A Long concert – April 14th, 2012
Children’s Hearing and Speech Centre of BC adopted the Loud Shirt Day fundraiser two years ago that was started in Australia. For 2012 we have added ‘Get Loud Sing A Long’ presented by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, that will start at 10:00 am in the Alice MacKay Room, Vancouver Public Library on Saturday April 14th. The show is geared towards 3-7 year olds and features award winning children’s performer, Will Stroet.
Watch for more details on our Facebook page!
Will Stroet, an award-winning bilingual children’s musician from Vancouver, connects with kids through high-energy, interactive and educational music. From folk to rock to pop inspired tunes about active living, sports, animals and the environment are all part of the show. Will was recently nominated for 2011 Canadian Folk Music Awards for Best Children’s Album: “Walk ‘n’ Roll & 2011 Western Canadian Music Award for Best Children’s Recording: “Walk ‘n’ Roll”. Will and The Backyard Band will play an approximate set of 45 minutes from all five albums, and engage kids and their parents with actions, sing-along choruses and lots of dancing! www.willmusic.ca
Loud Shirt Day – April 13th, 2012
LOUD SHIRT DAY is one day a year where everyone in BC can go wild and commit some serious fashion crimes by stepping out in their loudest, brightest shirts. You’ll have a whole lot of fun and also help give BC’s deaf children a voice –their voice. Get your whole workplace, school, or community group together and have some fun! Let your creative side out, collect a donation from all participants and have fun getting loud!
Your participation in Loud Shirt Day raises vitally needed funds to help deaf children across BC reach their listening, language and speech milestones. It also raises the awareness that deaf children can talk and can attend their local school with their hearing siblings and peers, contribute to their community and reach their full potential within the hearing world.
Everyone who participates makes a minimum $5 donation (anything over $20 is fully tax deductible) and all money raised will help deaf children learn to listen and to speak throughout BC.
Simply contact us at 604-437-0255 or info@childrenshearing.ca to get registered. We will mail you a participant kit packed with the tools you need to organize your Loud Shirt Day. We want to make everything as easy as possible for you to be successful.
